- Adult - $20
- Teams - $18 per person for a team of 4 or more
- Children 12 and under - $12 (with child size t-shirt only)

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I register for SSW and how much does it cost?
You can register August 26th through September 29th: on-line at idahohumanesociety.org, by mail, at any Zamzows store, the Idaho Humane Society shelter, Capitol City Farmer’s Market, Zamzows Frisbee Fest -September 17th or the Hyde Park Street Fair – September 16th -18th.
2. Is the registration fee per person or per dog?
The registration fee is per person. You may bring more than one dog but they must be under control at all times.
3. Do I have to pay the registration fee if I just want to participate in the walk?
We encourage every participant to be registered. Every registration benefits the animals at the Humane Society.
4. Can I register in advance but continue to collect pledges up until the day of SSW?
Yes. Pledges should be turned it on the morning of the event.
5. I can’t attend SSW but would still like to raise pledges or make a donation to help the animals. Can I do that?
If you are unable to attend the event you may make a tax deductible donation of any amount and/or you may raise pledges. You will still be eligible for pledge prizes. If you are unable to deliver the pledges on the day of the event, please deliver to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, ID, 83705 prior to or after the event. Additionally, (even if you cannot attend) you may register to receive a t-shirt and dog scarf.
6. How do I register my dog for the contests?
In your registration packet you will find an entry form. Fill out and submit at the "Puttin on the Dog Contests" table near the band shell. Additional forms will be available on the day of the event.
7. Can I buy extra SSW t-shirts and dog bandanas?
Any remaining t-shirts will be available for purchase (at the Idaho Humane Society) the week following the event. Extra dog scarves may be purchased at the event for $2.00 each (subject to availability).
8. If I register on-line or by mail, how do I pick up my t-shirt? You may pick up your t-shirt at the Idaho Humane Society prior to the event or at the Registration table on the day of the event. However, for your convenience, we encourage everyone to pick up their t-shirt and dog scarf prior to the day of the event.
9. Why is it important that I be on time for the start of the walk?
The streets will temporarily be closed to accommodate the large number of walkers so it is not possible to accommodate late arrivals. The walk begins promptly at 11:00 a.m.
10. Where can I park?
On the day of the event (from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) free parking will be available at the BSU campus parking structure. Free parking is allowed in the parking structure only, cars parked in the lot will be towed.

Prizes for Pledges
Collect pledge money and earn the prizes below:
- Collect $50 in pledges: You receive an official SSW Pawprint keychain
- Collect $150 in pledges: You receive an official SSW Hat and Official SSW Pawprint keychain.
- Collect $250 in pledges: You receive an Official SSW Sweatshirt, SSW Hat and SSW Pawprint keychain.
To qualify to collect these prizes:
- Fill out the sponsorship form (make copies to add more names), and collect donations.
- Turn in all donations on the day of the event. Please make checks payable to IHS.

"Puttin on the Dog" - contests for you and your dog
Agility - Let your dog get "tired" and "burn rubber" while running through an agility course designed with tires by event sponsor Commercial Tire.
Dressed to the K-Nines - Get fancy, get frumpy, get shiny, get shaggy. The most original costumed duo wins the prize (limited to first 20 entries). Sponsored by Zamzows
Pooches on Parade "Float" - Your pooch in all its glory, atop its own little dynasty. Sponsored by THRIVE! Float guidelines:
- Dimensions: 3’ wide x 5’ long maximum (for example, use a wagon, cart or stroller as the base)
- Power: Each float should be powered by the entrant; no bicycles or motorized vehicles
- Design & Decoration: Limited only by your imagination; keep in mind this is a family event and floats should reflect that (no political endorsements are allowed).
- Safety: If you will have your dog(s) or child on the float, be sure they are safely and humanely restrained. You may want to incorporate a crate or carrier in your design or walk beside the float while gently holding your dog in place.
