Rescue Ranch - Purpose & Services

About the Rescue Ranch

The Idaho Humane Society Rescue Ranch rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected horses and other livestock. Since April 1, 2004, IHS has rescued and rehabilitated over 200 horses and investigated another 100 reports of abuse and neglect. The Idaho Humane Society has jurisdiction in Ada County and Boise City. For out-of-county rescues and prosecution, the Idaho Humane Society works with law enforcement and the State Veterinarian (Department of Agriculture).

The Rescue Ranch is currently leasing 23 acres to house and rehabilitate rescued animals. A dedicated team of volunteers help with the daily feedings, handling and cleaning.
